Established 18 Mar 1929, Stockholm (Sweden), at a meeting of hydrographers of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Creation of the Commission proposed in 1926. Original title Northern Hydrographic Group (NHG) -- Groupe hydrographique de l'Europe du Nord (GHEN) -- Nordens Hydrografiske Forbund (NHF). A regional group for cooperative hydrographic and charting projects within the B-XB2115 - International Hydrographic Organization (IHO).
Change opinions; provide information; harmonize Nordic practices with regard to various hydrographic related issues; contribute to the work of IHO.
