The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).
History
as follow-up to the Plaza Agreement, 22 Sep 1985. Not an organization - title is informal description referring to occasional meetings of Ministers of Finance of the 5 most industrialized countries. Also referred to as Group of 5 -- Groupe des 5. When joined by Finance Ministers of Italy and Canada, referred to as F-XJ4647 - Group of Seven (G-7), which ultimately replaced G-5, 1986-1987. Joined further by Finance Ministers of the Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden and Switzerland this became H-XF1004 - Group of Ten (G-10). A wider and more representative H-XF4647 - Group of Twenty-Two (G-22) has been proposed by the USA and some other members.
Aims
As indicated in the Plaza Agreement: while recognizing progress in promoting convergence of favourable economic performance among participating countries, seek to achieve increased and more balanced growth, and to bring key exchange rates more into line with underlying fundamentals.
