Setting up first proposed by senior military lawyers from 4 Commonwealth jurisdictions at 9th S-XS0034 - Commonwealth Law Conference, 1990, Auckland (New Zealand).


Promote interest within the Commonwealth in all aspects of the law relating to the raising, training, discipline and employment of armed forces, especially military law, the international laws of armed conflict and other aspects of international law relating to the use and deployment of armed forces in any role; promote the exchange of information and views; provide a permanent source of contacts and expertise in military law and the international laws of armed conflict and the means of mutual help and support between Commonwealth nations in the study and application of those subjects.
