The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

3 Dec 1982, within the framework of United Nations (UN), being administered by the Disabled Persons Unit of the Department for Policy Coordination and Sustainable Development. As of 2006 ceased to exist.

Aims

Promote effective measures for prevention of disability, rehabilitation and realization of goals of full participation of disabled persons in social life and development and of equality, meaning opportunities equal to those of the whole population and an equal share in improvement in living conditions resulting from social and economic development in all countries, regardless of their level of development.
