1703, Paris (France), by Claude-François Poullart des Places, as a clerical religious congregation. Approved 4 Feb 1824. Merged, 1848, with the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, set up in 1841. Full title: Congregation of the Holy Spirit under the Protection of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. Commonly known as Holy Ghost Fathers -- Prêtres du Saint-Esprit or Fathers of the Holy Ghost. A missionary religious institute, currently composed of priests, brothers and lay associates.
