History

1790, France, by Marie Adélaïde Champion de Cicé and Pierre Joseph Picot de Clorivière, as a Roman Catholic religious order of women. Initial verbal approval of the community granted by Pope Pius VII In 1801; final approbation of the Constitution given by Pope Leo XIII in 1890.

Aims

Foster a world rooted in and revitalized by the Word of God; love better and respond to the needs of God's people; challenge those societal norms and laws that devalue the sanctity of human life and the integrity of creation; seek truth, promote peace and reverence all life in the name of Jesus as the centre and his mother Mary as the role model.
