The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

15 Oct 1994, Brussels (Belgium), within the framework of Network of European Foundations (NEF). Ceased to exist.

Aims

Increase resources available to Europe's independent sector so that foundations and corporate bodies can play their role in addressing challenges outlined in the European Union White Paper on growth, competitiveness, employment; for this purpose, look at new trends and services that could be stimulated and put into action.

Describes present state of the third sector in Europe by including specialist chapters on: the philanthropic environment; USA experience; legal, fiscal and self-regulation issues; management of non-financial resources; special finance; endowments, legacies, bequests; community foundations; growing resources; investment products: ethical, green, low-risk; individual country reports of the third sector in EU member countries.
