The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

1981, by United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). Activities completed June 1993.

Activities

Provides advisory services, short-term consultancies and training in energy planning, coal development, natural gas development, energy conservation, rural energy planning and development, and electric power development through technical cooperation among developing countries (TCDC) work programmes of regional (Asia) working groups. Government officials are trained through workshops, seminars, group meetings, training courses and fellowships.
