Founded 18 Sep 1956, Frankfurt-Main (Germany FR), as International Community of Booksellers Associations (ICBA) -- Communauté internationale des associations de libraires (CIAL) -- Internationale Arbeitsgemeinschaft von Sortimentsbuchhändler-Vereinigungen (IASV). Present name adopted 1979. Ceased to exist prior to 2015, when merged with European Booksellers Federation to become D-XD6343 - European and International Booksellers Federation (EIBF).
Aims
Promote cooperation among booksellers and associations of booksellers of countries which enjoy freedom of thought and speech, with a view to exchange of information and discussion of common trade problems.
