The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

within the framework of European Commission (EC), originally for 1989-1992. Subsequently functioned as JOULE II and then, 1994-1998, within the Fourth Framework Programme for Research and Development, as Joule III, part of the research and development component of the specific programme for non-nuclear energy (NNE) - Joule-Thermie Programme - which also included Energy Technology for Our Environment (THERMIE Programme).

Improve security of energy supply; protect the environment; encourage rational utilization of energy.
