1993, as part of E-XK1605 - Plan Bleu pour l'environnement et le développement en Méditerranée (Plan Bleu) within the framework of F-XF1881 - Mediterranean Action Plan (MAP) and with the assistance of E-XE2442 - European Commission (EC).
Aims
Analyse systematically long-term development/environment interactions - pressure of human activities, environmental degradation feedback effects on the economy, interaction among other environmental components; draw up indicators to reflect changes, adapted to follow-up Agenda 21 application in the Mediterranean; analyse institutions and national policies oriented towards sustainable development in the region; develop statistical and geographical information system; cooperate with a network of scientific partners and national and international bodies active in the region; support creation of national observatories.
