History

27 Jul 1953, by E-XE3376 - United Nations Security Council (UNSC), to implement the armistice agreement which brought an end to the Korean War. Also referred to as Military Armistice Commission in Korea. Mandate: indefinite, no fixed termination date.

Aims

Settle through negotiation any violation of the agreement; act as intermediary between commanders of opposing sides.
