The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).
Founded
1965
History
1965, as Initial Consultative Group, on the initiative of Robert Kurt Woetzel (1930-1991). Ceased to exist when merged into U-XF4100 - Foundation for the Establishment of an International Criminal Court (FEICC), set up 26 Mar 1970, Los Angeles CA (USA).
Aims
Together with FEICC: promote a progressive development of international criminal law; draft codes of conduct, statutes for international commissions and courts, and proposals for implementing international agreements on human rights and humanitarian law and on international criminal law; establish the principle of individual responsibility, conscience and accountability as a reference point for policy and decision-makers; educate and assist in the establishment of an international criminal court for the prosecution of certain crimes from terrorism to torture and related punishments and procedures.
