Establish the connection with member countries in view of assuring passage of information on present and future developments within the orthoptic profession in member countries; represent orthoptists in member countries to EU authorities, especially within the European Commission; disseminate suggestions and decisions made by authorities affecting the profession, as well as communicate advice and proposals to these authorities; promote among member countries coordination or working conditions and harmonization of orthoptist's training; assist member organizations when common interests are concerned, creation of an European orthoptic diploma.
