The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).


1987, as an institution of European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), on adoption by the European Community of a Common Opinion on social dialogue and new technology signed by ETUC, BUSINESSEUROPE and European Centre of Employers and Enterprises Providing Public Services (CEEP). Original title: Association for European Training for Employees in Technology. Registered in accordance with Belgian law. No longer active.


Provide specialized training in the analysis of social and organizational implications of new technology as a means of assisting trade union negotiations in the context of technological change.

Carries out European training activities - transnational courses for trade union leaders, officers and representatives - in conjunction with European Trade Union College (ETUCO), national confederations and European industry federations. Also together with ETUCO: joint programmes; joint publications; set up ETUI-REHS Education Resource Centre.
