1971, as Latin American Federation of Consulting Engineers – Fédération latinoaméricaine des consultants – Federación Latinoamericana de Asociaciones de Consultores (FELAC) – Federação Latinoamericana de Associaçôes de Consultores (FELAC). Current structure and name adopted, 1993. Registered in accordance with the law of Peru.
Group existing representative institutions of consulting engineers in American countries and contribute to their creation in American countries where none exists; promote technical scientific advancement of the profession and protect professional interests; ensure observance of standards and rules of professional conduct in conformity with Ethical Code; play a consultative role with governments of member associations' countries and promote advantages of using consulting services for public sector projects; act as source of information on matters of mutual interest.
