Constitution came into force 8 Apr 1970. First Session of the Assembly, 14-16 Oct 1970, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). International Natural Rubber Agreement on Price Stabilisation was signed, Nov 1976, by five member countries. Re-constituted May 1982. Statutes registered in 'UNTS 1/15731'.


Improve productivity of rubber holdings, reduce cost, increase value addition in downstream rubber sector, explore sources of ancillary income, capitalize on eco-friendly credentials of natural rubber and thereby improve the well-being of rubber farmers.

Makes studies of the world rubber position and examines the short and long term problems facing the natural rubber industry; promotes research and development in production, marketing and processing of natural rubber; sets up institutional arrangements as required; cooperates with appropriate organizations. Organizes Annual Conference, seminars, workshops and meetings connected with: (a) progress and development of rubber smallholders; (b) natural rubber statistics; (c) production and marketing of natural rubber; (d) demand-supply of natural rubber.
