May 1976, Rome (Italy), by Lelio Basso, as Lelio Basso International Foundation for the Rights and Liberation of Peoples -- Fondation internationale Lelio Basso pour le droit et la libération des peuples -- Fundación Internacional Lelio Basso por el Derecho y la Liberación de los Pueblos -- Fondazione Internazionale Lelio Basso per il Diritto e la Liberazione dei Popoli, together with LIDLIP, at the end of 3rd session of Russell Tribunal II on Latin America - subsequently Permanent Peoples' Tribunal - in order to give a permanent structure to the activities covered by this tribunal. Ceased to exist, 2005, when it became the international section of G-XG6593 - Fondazione Lelio e Lisli Basso - ISSOCO.


In the belief that true liberation cannot exist unless a people is the master of its own culture, help those peoples struggling for emancipation to become better acquainted with the scope of their endeavours; provide a platform for those who are designing new instruments of liberation; identify the function that law can play in the liberation of peoples.
