Founded, deriving from 'Youth for Christ International' set up in 1945, USA. Revised Constitution and present name adopted 4 Aug 1974, Les Diablerets (Switzerland), at Council's Third Convocation. Further modifications to constitution adopted: 6-14 Aug 1977, Rio de Janeiro (Brazil); 3 Jul 1984, Hong Kong.
Coordinate the worldwide work of Youth for Christ; guide development of Youth for Christ ministry in new countries; reach young people everywhere, by working together with local churches and like-minded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus.
