The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

Founded

1962

History

1962, within the framework of C-XC3005 - NATO, within E-XE2231 - Allied Command Operations (ACO). At end of 1994, transferred to F-XK0384 - Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFC Brunssum), responding to CINCENT for air and land forces. Also referred to as Combined Command of the Southern Part of the NATO Northern Region. Covers Denmark, Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg (Germany). Presumed ceased to exist due to restructuring of ACO.

Aims

The Commander of BALTAP, known as COMBALTAP, is responsible to maintain control of the exits of the Baltic by defending the whole of his designated area.

Structure

COMBALTAP has 4 subordinate commanders: COMLANDJUT (Commander of allied land forces in Schleswig-Holstein, Jutland and Funen); COMLANDZEALAND (Commander of land forces East of the Great Belt, on Bornholm and of possible reinforcements); COMNAVBALTAP (Commander of Danish and German naval forces); COMAIRBALTAP (Commander of the allied forces in Denmark and Schleswig-Holstein).
