Sep 1865, La Spezia (Italy), as Congrès paléoethnologique international (CPI), during a meeting of the Italian national association. Listed title adopted in 1867. Permanent Council created at Congress, 1880, Lisbon (Portugal). U-XU0169 - International Congress of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences (ICAES) was set up in 1934 and acted as the follower of the various Congresses of Anthropological Sciences. Although Congresses ceased with the onset of World War I in 1914, CIAPP is the direct antecedent of B-XB2755 - International Union of Prehistoric and Protohistoric Sciences. B-XB2687 - International Union of Anthropological and Ethnological Sciences (IUAES), set up 23 Aug 1948, Brussels (Belgium), at 3rd ICAES.
