Founded 21 Sep 1989, Quito (Ecuador). Previously also referred to as Association of Electoral Organizations of South America.
Increase cooperation between all member organizations by highlighting the need for permanent democratic government in South America through universal suffrage and free and secret ballots and by suggesting adoption of policies and procedures which contribute to the enhancement of electoral processes, thereby guaranteeing their absolute fairness and unconditional respect for their outcome.
