The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History
14 Jun 1976, on ratification by T-XT7163 - Nordic Cultural Cooperation and within the framework of D-XD4238 - Nordic Council of Ministers (NCM), replacing U-XH4299 - Nordic Committee for Information and Documentation, set up in 1970, and U-XH4298 - Committee for Cooperation between Nordic Research Libraries, formed in 1972. Activities commenced 1 Jan 1977. Statutes revised 3 Dec 1991. As of 2005 "inactive".
Aims
Promote Nordic cooperation in the field of scientific information and documentation, principally in connection with the research library system; coordinate, initiate and support activities making information of Nordic and non-Nordic origin more efficiently available to Nordic users within the scientific community, industry and official authorities; support activities making information of Nordic origin more efficiently available to users outside the Nordic countries; keep in step with progress and development in the library and documentation fields in and outside Nordic countries.
