History
Developed, 1993, as a followup to the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED).
Founded following a Meeting of Senior Officials (SOM) on Environmental Cooperation in Northeast Asia and comprising Korea DPR, Japan, Mongolia, China, Korea Rep and USSR.
Aims
Contribute to environmental protection and recovery in the Northeast Asian Subregion by coordinating the exchange of information on environmental monitoring and data comparability and by gathering and disseminating information on updated environmental monitoring technologies and methodologies.
