The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

1 Oct 1981, as Caribbean Project Development Facility (CPDF) -- Unidad de Preparación de Proyectos para el Caribe, under the auspices of E-XE3382 - UNDP, and with F-XF2057 - International Finance Corporation (IFC) acting as Executing Agency. Expanded, 1988, to include Central America; listed title adopted 1991 to reflect expansion of operations. Also referred to as Business Advisory Service - Caribbean and Central America. A project development facility of IFC. Currently (1999) ceased to exist when reorganized into 2 profit-making activities, one for Central America and the other for the Caribbean.

Aims

Design financial structure and assist in obtaining equity and loan financing for promising new investment projects for private enterprises in the Caribbean and Central American region; identify technology, technical partners, export markets and financing requirements.
