The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).


EURON I (1999 - 2004); EURON II (2004 - 2008) is the direct continuation of EURON I. Network under the 6th Framework Programme (FP6), funded as part of the Information Society Technologies (IST) Future and Emerging Technologies (FET) programme on Beyond Robotics. Ceased to exist when superseded by euRobotics, Sep 2012.


Implement and maintain a network of excellence that allows coordination of research, teaching and education and academic-industry collaboration in the field of robotics throughout Europe; provide a primary portal for information about European robotics to other interested parties outside Europe.

Key areas: Research Coordination; Education and Training; Industrial Links; Dissemination. Operates summer schools; organizes ad-hoc activities mostly related to prospective research projects, research ateliers and topical studies. Projects funded to date: Robotics Ontology for the Semantic WEB (ROSE); RoboEthics; PHRIDOM. Offers annual awards: George Giralt PhD Award; Technology Transfer Award.
