The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

History

11 Aug 1993, as an independent organization with the title European Environmental Research Organization Foundation Training and Assessment (EERO Foundation Training and Assessment) and subsequently referred to as Foundation EERO Training and Assessment. Previous history: 1 Aug 1991, creation of EERO Training Centre, by H-XF2273 - European Environmental Research Organization (EERO), to disseminate knowledge of the natural sciences and mathematics that underlie environmental problems, support effective dissemination and exploitation of that knowledge and enlarge the pool of appropriately trained research workers, regulators and managers from science, industry, government and nature conservation; 1 Feb 1992, setting up of EERO Assessment Unit to make authoritative scientific assessment of specific environmental problems. Present name adopted 14 Apr 1997.

Aims

Support European economic development and industrial performance by: enlarging the pool of appropriately trained managers within industry, government and science; bridging gaps by assessing key issues and controversial problems; building networks.
