History
1985, within the framework of A-XA3606 - World Veterinary Association (WVA). Most recent statutes adopted 1997.
Aims
Unify the equine veterinary profession throughout the world by providing a common forum for national and international equine veterinary organizations and other equine interest associations; provide a central body to coordinate and exchange information related to the horse; encourage equine veterinary practitioners to attain a degree of excellence by provision of high-level education by competent scientists, ongoing retraining, development of specializations in medicine, surgery and all aspects of production, care for all equines used in agriculture, sport and leisure, and promotion of the equine practitioner as an essential partner in all aspects of equine health, production and welfare.
