Reorganized, Dec 1987, as a separate and independent body, servicing its 2 affiliates: the amateur U-XB9945 - International Surfing Federation (ISF), formerly referred to as 'International Council for the Advancement of Surfing' and as 'International Council of Associations of Surfing (ICAS)' and the professional world governing body F-XC7900 - International Surfing League (ISL), previously referred to as 'International Professional Surfing Federation (IPSF)'. Current structure with ISL as sole governing body, adopted 1 Jan 2003. Ceased to exist, end 2003.
Function as a permanent endowment to underwrite finance and coordinate the fund-raising and the administrative continuance worldwide of ISL and their national and international affiliates.
