Dear UIA members,
Subvention is a widely discussed topic in the event industry. Where one sees it as a poorly justified incentive, others see it as a necessity and a business enabler. Decennia have passed since subventions were first introduced in the event industry and as our industry evolves, so do the practice and the attitudes around the subject.
The University of Turku has been granted the biennial European Conference on Developmental Psychology. The Conference will be held in Turku, Finland on 28 August – 1 September, 2023.
On April 14, the UN ECOSOC FfD Forum side-Event, organized by ISEA Foundation, was held under the theme of "Blockchain financial platform for automatic distribution" from 8:30 to 9:30 local time. This forum is a forum for development resources conducted by UN organizations and governments.

Finland’s last restrictions on events will end at the end of September and business events are given a go-ahead to resume from October 1st.
As of October 1st, all restrictions on events will be lifted. However, the general hygiene requirements still apply to ensure the health and safety of customers and participants. In addition, restaurant operations are restricted regionally by government decree.

The International Federation of Hydrographic Societies (IFHS) has developed the Hydrographic Professional Accreditation Scheme (HPAS) to provide international recognition to hydrographic professionals in demonstrating their competency, educational background and career development.
