Poland Convention Bureau of Polish Tourism Organisation in cooperation with SITE Poland introduced a new tool dedicated to the promotion of Poland. Built around the offer of municipal and regional convention bureaux plus the resources, expertise and experience of Poland Convention Bureau and SITE Poland, it joins the Poland Online Site Inspection catalogue as the latest solution targeting the MICE sector.
Destination Poland is a technological tool in Polish and English that is based on SITE Poland’s website. In addition to practical tips, it features information about Poland’s highlights, proposals of incentive programmes, as well as a calendar of top cultural, science and sports events. The project marks a response to the increasing popularity of Polish incentive products both among domestic and foreign SITE members, as well as other representatives of Poland’s incentive sector.
“For many years now Polish Tourism Organisation has been enthusiastic about joining forces with the industry to secure and support international conferences and congresses and to boost recognition of the impact event and meeting planning has on local communities. In 2020 Poland Convention Bureau started its cooperation with SITE Poland specialists and local experts in particular cities and regions by arranging a series of fam trips aimed at incentive travel planners who, due to international travel restrictions, became increasingly interested in the domestic offer. This launch is another proof of our industry’s flexible approach to recovery”, said Rafał Szlachta, President of Polish Tourism Organisation. As the leader of Central Europe, Poland stands out due to a highly innovative sector of incentive travel services. The strength of our market lies in its professional and well-structured character co-created by local and international associations.
“Poland boasts a huge potential which was acknowledged by foreign companies staging trips to our country. They learn about Poland by taking part in trade shows, workshops and face-to-face meetings with DMCs. We intend to keep the spotlight pointed at Poland as an attractive destination and use advanced tools to reach brand-new markets. SITE Global associates more than 2,500 members from all over the world, with vast majority involved in organising incentive trips, meetings and conferences. This group includes not only agencies, but also organisations and corporations. They will be the target group of our offer and communication”, explained Grażyna Grot-Duziak, President of SITE Poland, who went on to add that “By working with Poland Convention Bureau POT we will be able to take advantage of its specialists’ competence and materials, simultaneously expanding their market reach”.
Constituting the first stage of the new tool’s development, the website is a starting point of a broader communication platform and a tool for SITE Poland members, Polish convention bureaux, hotels and attraction suppliers, who can use it to promote their services. The intended audience at SITE Global and many other similar organisations will find here comprehensive information, concepts and reasons why they should bring their business and leisure trips to our country, including a wide range of major cultural, science and sports events, a huge attraction in itself that draws crowds of tourists.
“The new reality we were forced to face in 2020 resulted in the number of trips scheduled by Polish companies dropping by more than 70%. Fortunately, some events were successfully transferred to Poland, which continues to be somewhat surprising and unexplored for many domestic travellers. Importantly, it is also free of the risks that can be posed by trips to more faraway destinations. According to the latest Incentive Travel Industry Index, the so-called incentive travel 2.0 - as projects implemented in the nearest future are increasingly often referred to - will focus on CSR and wellness, followed by cultural experiences and team building practising social distancing. We will adopt a more responsible and intentional approach to travelling, both across Poland and worldwide. I hope that with the help of Destination Poland we will show that the whole industry is aware of these changes, ready to act and rebuild the market”, said Aneta Książek, Head of Poland Convention Bureau POT.
