Reclaiming Policies for the Public: Geneva Launch of the Civil Society Reflection Group Report
23 October 2017 | 13.00-15.00 | Palais des Nations, Room XII, Geneva | Register online
What impacts do privatization, partnerships and the role of corporations have on the sustainability and equality aimed for by the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development? A global coalition of civil society organizations and trade unions - supported by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung - has some answers to this question, published in the Civil Society Reflection Group's Report, Spotlight on Sustainable Development 2017.
Join a varied panel of experts for the Geneva launch of this critical "shadow" report. The panel will present and discuss key findings and recommendations, providing a wide-ranging independent assessment of the implementation so far of the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals.
Panelists: Barbara Adams (Global Policy Forum), Sandra Vermuyten (Public Services International / PSI), Stefano Prato (Society for International Development / SID), María Graciela Cuervo (Development Alternatives with Women for a New Era / DAWN)
Discussants: Paul Ladd (UNRISD), Vicente Yu (South Centre)
Moderation: Hamish Jenkins (UNRISD)
Opening Remarks: Hubert René Schillinger (FES)
The event is co-organized by UNRISD and FES.
Sandwiches and light refreshments will be served prior to the event
