11th World Esports Summit Brings the Esports Community Together in Busan

The International Esports Federation (IESF) hosted the 11th World Esports Summit (WES) on 6–9 October 2026 at The Westin Josun Busan, Republic of Korea. The two-day summit brought together representatives from national esports federations, game publishers, esports teams, and the wider sports and research communities. Discussions explored how esports can support the next generation of players, protect athlete wellbeing, and uphold competitive integrity. Speakers also considered how changing audience habits are shaping the industry and what closer engagement with the Olympic Movement could mean for esports. The programme featured Esports for Youth, co-hosted with the UNESCO Chair at the Korea Institute of Sport Science (KISS). The series explored the role of education in esports and gave young people a platform to share their perspectives. The summit was hosted by IESF with support from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Republic of Korea, Busan Metropolitan City, and the Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency (BIPA). IESF also thanks the Busan Tourism Organization (BTO) for its support in welcoming international delegates to Busan.
