CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES

To be a place of confluence where practitioners, decision-makers and researchers from various disciplines (epidemiology, social sciences, geography, nursing, etc.) and from various sectors of public health can share their knowledge. 1- Present innovative research that addresses the social, cultural, economic and environmental determinants of health and their application. 2- Outline public health capacity building strategies at the local, provincial/territorial, pan-Canadian and international levels. 3- Inform participants about the social forces that affect public and population health. 4- Building on partnerships and collaboration to advance public and population health in the new millennium. 5- Develop new strategies for the control and prevention of STI/HIV/AIDS diseases and infections and malaria in Africa. CONDITIONS TO BE FULFILLED

Our sponsor Glaxo SmithKline (GSK), accredited by the UNDP, the World Bank, the IMF and the Center International du Crédit Mutuel (CICM) and the UN will cover the following charges for a two-week stay:

- Your return plane ticket from your country to Canada (Ottawa)
- Your housing and alimony
- Logistic supervision
-Health insurance during your stay.

NB: However, each participant must pay a registration fee of USD $697 to our Africa regional coordinator. The Administrative Council will send the participant by fax or by other means of correspondence later a confirmation of registration as soon as we receive the files. The Canadian Embassy in your country or in your neighborhood will contact you to complete the visa forms; the electronic or name plane ticket will also be sent to you through diplomatic channels.
