Compiling information for the International Congress Calendar involves a year-round process of research and editing. Information is usually derived from primary sources collected directly from the meeting organizers, often in response to questionnaires addressed to them. All entries are subject to correction from the meeting organizer.
Questionnaires are sent out by post, email and fax for the organizations themselves to correct. The average response rate is 35%, ensuring highly reliable information. The questionnaires are supplemented with information from websites, annual reports, newsletters and other documents.
The process of detecting newly announced meetings, and building up an adequate profile, is not as straightforward as might be assumed. Announcements may be tentative, variously misleading according to source, and subject to frequent revision.
Thanks are due to the many international organizations and other bodies whose cooperation make the production of this Calendar possible.
Although every effort is taken in preparing the Calendar, the editors cannot be responsible for inaccuracies or omissions.
