Represent private insurance of the Americas; assert the spirit of service and the public image of private insurance; encourage development of insurance and private reinsurance; defend private enterprise with responsible exercise of freedom; promote dissemination of and respect for ethical, technical and legal norms in insurance and reinsurance; promote closer relations among member insurers by encouraging exchange of ideas and experience and by establishing necessary services; support the setting up of research centres and the organization of national, regional or international courses and seminars to achieve the best possible training of top executives, officials and employees in the field; seek uniformity of statistical information systems and of legislation related to technical insurance aspects; cooperate in improving general economic development, creating links with public and private, national and international, organizations; establish and maintain relationships with similar organizations in other continents.
