History
Founded Jan 1990. Registered according with Belgian law, 25 Jul 1990. An organization of the type F-XE0630 - European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG). Ceased to exist 2016, when merged with H-XM3391 - European Metal Packaging (EMPAC) to become D-XJ9400 - Metal Packaging Europe (MPE).
Aims
Represent manufacturers of beverage cans in Europe for the benefit of economic life and trade in the European Union; coordinate and encourage recycling and resource management programmes, recognizing regional differences and priorities; monitor progress versus alternative packaging systems; promote benefits of beverage cans to brewers and the soft drinks industry, retailers, consumers, legislators and other interested parties; promote beverage can use through contact and exchange of experience with raw material suppliers, national and international associations and other institutions involved.
