The UIA is a leading provider of information about international non-profit organizations. The aim of the Open Yearbook is to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).
History
17th century, Tamgrut (Morocco), as an Islamic order and as as local branch of R-XR8845 - Shadhiliya, by Muhammad Ibn Nasir al Dar'ai (c 1603-1674), who succeeded his teacher as leader of an established community. His son, Ahmad Ibn Muhammad Ibn Nasir (died 1717), organized the community, and trained and sent out teachers to other regions; eventually the Tamgrut centre became both wealthy and influential. Numerous branches, including Hansaliya and Shabbiya. Since the 1950s, some branches have been lost to other orders, mainly R-XR8610 - Darkawa and R-XR8977 - Tidjaniya.
Aims
Teachings prescribe strict observance of the Koran and the Traditions and prolonged prayer (though ecstatic practices are rejected).
