Founded 1983, as International Society for Interferon Research (ISIR). Subsequent title: International Society for Interferon and Cytokine Research (ISICR). Current title adopted on merger with H-XD4436 - International Cytokine Society, 2013.
Promote original research in the fields of cytokines, interferons, chemokines, growth factors and their receptors; facilitate communication and interaction between scientists aimed at the multidisciplinary integration of current basic and clinical knowledge and concepts in these areas of research; promote the dissemination of information on, and applications of knowledge of theses areas of biomedical research; promote an awareness with educational programmes of the national and international health communities of the importance of these areas of biomedical research.
