History
1982, during the Lebanon War, when a group of Lebanese Shi'ite Muslims declared themselves to be the Party of God -- Hizb Allah. Closely allied with the Islamic Revolution in Iran. Also referred to as: Hizballah; Islamic Jihad for the Liberation of Palestine; Organization of the Oppressed on Earth; Revolutionary Justice Organization.
Aims
As an international network of Islamic extremist groups, resist the Israeli invasion of the Lebanon; eventually create an Islamic republic in Lebanon and remove all non-Islamic influences from the area.
