May 1977, Bratislava (Czechoslovakia), as a permanent international body of C-XC2307 - World Mining Congress (WMC), set up 1958, Warsaw (Poland). Statutes approved at 1st Plenary Meeting, 1979, Kiev (USSR); updated at 7th Plenary Meeting, 1996, Burgas (Bulgaria).

Secure exchange of information and promote scientific and technical cooperation during research activities and while solving practical problems in the field of mining thermophysics.
