History
Founded within the framework of B-XB1291 - International Association of Geodesy (IAG). Began formal operation, 1 Jan 1994, following 1-year pilot phase. Responsible union: A-XA2722 - International Union of Geodesy and Geophysics (IUGG).
Aims
Provide the highest quality data and products as the standard for global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) in support of earth science research, multidisciplinary applications and education; advance scientific understanding of the earth system components and their interactions; facilitate other applications benefiting society.
