Greta Kotler is Senior Vice President for Global Development at ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership. In this new role, she has the opportunity to focus on the association community worldwide. Her role is to build ways to exchange knowledge and practice among association executives, help to engage association executives in different areas of the world, and work to build the association community globally.
She previously held the position of Chief Knowledge Officer with overall responsibility for a team leading research, publications, social media, innovation, and international outreach.
Prior to joining ASAE eleven years ago, she held several senior-level positions, including responsibility for membership, at the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and served as Interim President and CEO in 1999.
Rob Davidson
Senior Lecturer in Events Management at the University of Greenwich
Rob Davidson is a Senior Lecturer in Events Management at the University of Greenwich in London, where he works in the London Centre for Events Management, within the Business School. His main areas of expertise are conferences and business events, and over the last ten years he has written widely on these themes. His latest book, co-written with Tony Rogers, is Marketing Destinations and Venues for Conferences, Conventions and Business Events. In addition, he regularly writes articles for the professional business tourism press, including Conference News. Rob also runs his own consultancy business, and has carried out research for a number of major conference organisations in the UK and overseas.
He is regularly invited to speak at international conferences on themes linked to business tourism. Since 2002, Rob has been employed on a consultancy basis as Industry Analyst by Reed Travel Exhibitions, for whom he carries out ongoing research. At EIBTM in Barcelona each year, he launches his annual report on trends in the meetings and events industry worldwide. For the past 5 years, he has been included in Conference & Incentive Travel magazine’s ‘Power 50’ – the 50 most influential people in the UK conference industry. In 2009, Rob was awarded a medal by the government of Poland, in recognition of his outstanding services to Polish tourism.
Dorjee Sun [Director Who Gives]
Director and Founder of the Carbon Conservation Group, and Director and Founder of Carbon Agro
Dorjee is a serial social entrepreneur who has founded 8 companies and engineered exits for 3 as well as 2 acquisitions and assets sales. Who Gives is an initiative working on innovation, technology, consumer branding, social entrepreneurship and disruption in social giving.
Dorjee is also a Director and Founder of the Carbon Conservation Group which has equity in large scale conservation projects globally with project partners such as Rio Tinto, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Olam and Asia Pulp and Paper. One such project in Aceh, Indonesia, won the Carbon Finance Deal of the Year award and was also the subject of an award winning documentary, “The Burning Season”, which explained how orang-utan conservation and avoided deforestation could be tied in to generate alternative monetary incentives.
Dorjee is also a Director and Founder of Carbon Agro, which is a Singapore and Jakarta based company that focuses on cleantech solutions that manage waste streams in the palm oil industry by converting waste to fertilizer and energy whilst reducing greenhouse emissions and pollution.
The African Rainforest Conservancy honored Dorjee with an Earth Day Award and by naming a newly discovered blue spotted species of chameleon from the Tanzania rainforest – the “Kinyongia dorjeesuni” - after him. Dorjee has also won the Asialink Leaders Program Alumni Award, been named one of Australia’s Young Leaders by The Australian newspaper and TIME Magazine has also named him as a TIME Magazine Environmental Hero. His work has been covered in Wall Street Journal, Fortune, Time, ABC, PBS, BBC, Discovery, CNBC and other media outlets.
Patrizia is the Secretary General of Fimac, the International Foundation Doctors for Central Africa, which is a non profit organization that aims to improve the health conditions of people in Central Africa through cooperative humanitarian projects.
Fimac conducts several community projects focusing the attention in Burundi where the population is leaving in miserable conditions, especially the children.
Patrizia is also Vice-President of AIM Group International, a global company offering meeting and congress management with offices in Brussels, Budapest, Florence, Lisbon, Madrid, Milan, New York, Paris, Philadelphia, Prague, Rome, Sofia, Vienna, Vilnius and has over 25 years of experience in congress management. She has been President of IAPCO (International Association of Professional Conference Organisers) and a member of the IAPCO Training Academy and treasurer and partner of INCON (Global Partnership in Conferences & Events)she also teaches tourism management and marketing at the Universities of Economics of Rome and Milan.
Patrizia is serving the Foundation visiting Burundi twice a year . Using her knowledge and experience in meetings and association management she is involved in creating new opportunities to raise funds and defining strategic programs with long lasting impact on the local communities supported by associations and corporations.
