UIA's Database

The UIA’s database is continuously updated and comprises two main data sets:

  • Organizations – over 75,000 descriptive profiles of international associations
  • Events – over 550,000 past and future international events of these associations

The UIA keeps annual snapshots of the data sets which also enables comparison across years.

title:What are the sources of information in the Calendar?

Compiling information for the International Congress Calendar involves a year-round process of research and editing. Proofs of organization descriptions which include meetings entries are sent out by post, email and fax for the organizations themselves to correct. The average response rate is 35%, ensuring highly reliable information. Priority is normally given to information received from the organizations themselves, and every effort is made by the editors to check this information against other sources.

These are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, or ‘Transforming our World: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development’.
