The International Biographical Dictionary of Religion is an important reference for any individual or institution interested in the key leaders of the major religions of the world.

Leaders from Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, Sikhism, Baha'i, Confusianism, Jainism, Shintoism and Judaism are included.

This work is for international non-governmental organizations, intergovernmental organizations, journalists, universities and research institutes. The International Biographical Dictionary of Religion contains more than 4,000 biographies of eminent individuals. Theologians and other academics, spiritual leaders, administrators, pastors, priests, rabbis, imams, monks and nuns.

The three indexes are by nationality, by profession and by religious tradition.

Each biographical entry includes: full name; titles; personal information: nationality, birth date and place, maritial status, children, religion, ordination date and languages; position(s), religious and other organization(s); education; career; publications; civic and other activities; and home and business addresses and telephone numbers.

The single volume is intended to serve the following purposes:

  • to provide those concerned with religious organizations with information on the principal personalities involved in the development, operation and coordination of these important institutions and networks
