History
Established 16 Jan 2002, Freetown (Sierra Leone), by an agreement between A-XA3375 - United Nations (UN) and the Government of Sierra Leone, pursuant to resolution 1315 (2000) of E-XE3377 - ECOSOC of 14 Aug 2000. Seat was in Sierra Leone. After the last appeal judgement, 26 Sep 2013, the court closed and transitioned to the Residual Special Court for Sierra Leone.
Aims
Try those who bear the greatest responsibility for serious violations of international humanitarian law and the laws of Sierra Leone, committed since 30 Nov 1996.
