History
1967, Paramaribo (Suriname), by 48th Session of the Council of B-XB0971 - FAO, Resolution 8/48 (Article VI-1 of FAO Constitution). Rules of Procedure adopted at 1st session, 1968; amended at: 3rd session, 1972; 4th session, 1976. Also referred to as PPC/C. Abolished 2014, by Council Resolution 1/150.
Aims
Prevent introduction of destructive plant pests and diseases, and preserve existing plant resources; promote and strengthen intergovernmental cooperation and coordination; provide assistance to member countries on plant quarantine and protection matters.
