UIA launches 2018 survey on the meetings of international associations

Meetings behavior. The Union of International Associations (UIA) has invited 25,000 international associations to participate in its seventh edition of the Survey on International Meetings Issues to uncover how they organize their meetings and conferences. The results of the survey will be published in November 2018. The UIA conducts the survey every three years, and it is the largest survey looking into the meetings behavior of all the diverse types of international associations representing civic, charitable, commercial, or industrial interests around the world. By conducting the survey on a regular basis, those involved in the process of organizing international meetings can get a sense of changes over the years as well as the challenges of the current environment. For the 2018 survey the UIA is being supported by its sponsors the Singapore Tourism Board, the Monaco Convention Bureau and Seoul Tourism Organization.

Why Geneva
Why Geneva?
By Didier Allaz, Director, Geneva Convention Bureau

Did you know, that…?

EXPERT – Geneva has been known for decades for banking and watchmaking but for years our city is also expert in many fields such as biotech, medtech, cleantech, microtechnologies, commodities trading, trade finance, information technology, flavors and fragrances and more. We, the Geneva Convention Bureau, work constantly with the State of Geneva, Chamber of Commerce, and scientific institutions such as the University of Geneva, Geneva University Hospitals, CERN and Campus Biotech to create strong synergies. These close relationships are an obvious added-value for your future congress that we will be glad you can benefit from.

INTERNATIONAL – Ever since the League of Nations was established here in 1920, Geneva has had a reputation as the international city. But even those well aware of this role are astounded by the number and diversity of the institutions, organisations and NGOs based here: no less than 168 nations are represented in Geneva by a permanent mission or representation. Thirty-five international organisations and 250 NGOs have their headquarters in Geneva. This is one of the reasons why Geneva and Swiss people talk naturally many languages ...
