What is a UIA Round Table?

The UIA Round Tables are the core of UIA’s education project. The participants and speakers are people involved in running associations – of all sorts. The diversity of international associations attending any given UIA Round Table is dizzying, yet each UIA Round Table confirms that we have more in common than our associations’ names might indicate. We share challenges and questions and concerns. We often share a close acquaintance with managing on small budgets. Above all, we share a passion for what we do.

What’s on the programme?

The programme of a UIA Round Table is straightforward: bring together people who are involved in running associations, have some of them tell about their experience with particular challenges, and give ample time and space for all to share knowledge. In short presentations and panels, and in longer workshops and discussion groups, we exchange our experiences in overcoming (or not!) challenges in membership, communication, funding, governance, and other common issues ...

Association Management Master

Training. Executive Master in International Association Management will resume in January 2018. This 17-day modular training for association professionals is operated by the Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management. The teaching faculty, drawn from Solvay academic experts, is teamed up with association executives from the programme’s supporting partners (Union of International Associations (UIA), Federation of European and International Associations (FAIB), European Society of Association Executives (ESAE) and Visitbrussels).

Open Calendar boasts 10'000 Meetings

Free service. The Open Calendar is the result of UIA’s ongoing efforts to promote the activities of international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) and intergovernmental organizations (IGOs).

It includes approx. 10,000 current and future international meetings organized by non-profit organizations working worldwide in all fields of activity.

Support. The Lisbon Tourism Development Fund offers financial support for securing and hosting conferences and corporate and associative events in Lisbon. This programme supplements the national Support Programme for the Securing and Hosting of Conferences and Corporate and Associative Events, which is run by the Portuguese Tourism Board.
