How to approach international growth and development today?

Online self-assessment. Globalization is driving non-profit organizations of all types and sizes to evaluate how they should react to the changes globalization is creating. Why is that?

Today, 157 nations belong to the World Trade Organization (WTO) with another 319 regional trade agreements currently in force. These WTO and bi-lateral trade agreements are helping to drive ever deeper global integration for businesses, trade, services and professions.

This growing economic inter-dependence between countries directly impacts associations whose members are confronted by a globalized environment. According to the Economist, more than 50% of the world's entire economic activity will take place in emerging economy countries by 2018 (compared to just 20% of global output in 1990).

In October 2011, the world population passed the 7 billion person threshold. Of these, more than 2 billion people now have access to the Internet. With that access, people everywhere have the ability to tap into almost unlimited information, to share knowledge and experience with colleagues from around the world and to engage with associations. It also means that associations are able to easily reach and engage with more members globally than ever before as well.

So how are different associations approaching international growth and development today?

You are invited to participate in a short, online self-assessment (only takes about 10 minutes to complete). Your input, together with that of more than 250 other associations, will help to better understand how non-profit associations and organizations are approaching global growth issues.

In return for participating, you will receive a free copy of a report that compares how more than 250 associations are managing globalization, including:

- Which regions of the world are targeted for growth?
- Which services are associations leading with for international markets?
- What are the most common obstacles organizations face when growing internationally?

Take just a few minutes and learn how your organization compares with other non-profits regarding globalization.
